The showcase is an annual event going back more than 20 years, Oxley High School music teacher Matt Parnell said.

“It’s been going for as long as I can remember, back to the days of Peter McVie and Lorraine Shelton,” Mr Parnell said.

“In the afternoon, we do a performance for our partner schools and then the evening show is for parents, friends and the general community.

“It gives our most talented musicians, dancers and actors the chance to show their creative skills and allows the school’s Year 12 students the opportunity to display their HSC repertoire, as well as other creative students from years 7 to 10.”

The concert starts at 7pm and the proceeds from refreshment sales during interval will assist the school’s Creative and Performing Arts Council.

Tickets, at $7 for adults, and $5 for students and children, are now available from the Piper St school’s front office, or at the door on the night.

As seating is limited, it’s advisable to secure your tickets early to avoiddisappointment.
