Fine for offender who hurt little dog

Warrnambool’s Peter Pedretti has been fined for damage and an assault.

A WARRNAMBOOL man who stood on a small white dog in anger while demanding money from his ex-partner has been fined $750.

Peter Pedretti, 50, of McKnight Street,pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to unlawful assault and causing criminal damage.

Police said Pedretti and a woman had been involved in a relationship for seven months before splitting up.

On June 1 Pedretti arrived at the woman’s home unannounced. Hehad been drinking, asked the woman for money and she initially refused but then relented in the hope Pedretti would go away.

When the woman went inside, Pedrettistood on a small white dogin anger.

Pedretti then got into his car and blasted thehorn.

The woman came outside, she was pushed to the ground and suffered red marks to her shoulder.

He then used his vehicle to push the woman’s car, damagingthe car’sbumper.
